NEW – Self Catering Breaks at High Trenhouse

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Following numerous requests over the years, we are delighted to announce that High Trenhouse now offers self-catering breaks for groups of up to 10 people

Bennett’s at High Trenhouse is  a large detached converted luxury barn, probably the site of the original farmstead dating back to the middle ages. It is available for weekends and holidays on a self-catering basis and offers a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable lounge/dining room with wood-burning stove and easy access to private patios and garden.

Located on Malham Moor, Bennett’s at High Trenhouse enjoys a wonderful upland location only 2½ miles from the picturesque village of Malham.

If you are looking for that perfect weekend away with your family or friends visit our website for more information

High Trenhouse in Winter

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Life goes on, in spite of airport closures, motorway blockages and icy pavements throughout the land.  These conditions used to be the norm, but a decade of milder winters has led many to be less prepared.

At High Trenhouse our policy of keeping cars in the valley when there is a risk of snow has been vindicated.  Most days our Landrover provides a valuable connecting link, though there have been glitches due to the festive holidays (even snow ploughs take a break).

It may be winter outside, but contrast that with the warmth of High Trenhouse with it’s cosy interiors, wood burning stoves, sauna and jacuzzi, good food and welcoming hospitality.

Happy new year. We look forward to seeing you in 2010!

Outdoor Development at High Trenhouse

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Outdoor learning has the advantage of providing first hand experience as the basis of learning and development.  Exercises provide unambiguous feedback in situations where there is no risk that your company will disrupt processes, upset customers or lose sales – on the contrary, outdoor development experiences enable people to learn fast and avoid errors at work.

Given its location, High Trenhouse is one of the best venues in the country for outdoor experiential learning.  Apart from having grounds designed to accommodate simple exercises and reflective learning, you are surrounded by wonderful open upland countryside with caves, crags, moorland and  features like Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and the Three Peaks on your doorstep.

If you don’t have your own outdoor providers then use ours.  Since 1982 we have designed and run outdoor development exercises for team development and leadership.  From team tasks and treasure hunts to major simulations we have a range to suit all needs – and the equipment and instructors to enable you to take part safely.

Leisure Groups at High Trenhouse

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

High Trenhouse offers catered group leisure accommodation in the heart of the countryside near Malham in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We welcome groups of all kinds – walking groups, painting holidays, photography courses, yoga retreats, weddings, celebrations and family re-unions.

The Yorkshire Dales are justly famous – upland moors and river valleys provide excellent terrain for walking or touring. For the adventurous there are fine caving areas and challenging rock climbs. Walk north from High Trenhouse and you might not see anyone all day. Walk south and you easily reach the popular village of Malham and a little further, the small market towns of Skipton or Settle, both, incidentally, on the world famous Settle-Carlisle railway.

The Pennine Way passes within a mile along the shores of Malham Tarn and the Pennine Bridleway is also close by. For walking, cycling, trekking, touring the dales, nature studies, painting or just sitting around and reading – High Trenhouse is the ideal venue.

The Garden at High Trenhouse

Friday, May 29th, 2009

What a great day, the sun is shining, the sky is blue and the views of Malham Moor are breathtaking . A wander around the High Trenhouse garden has convinced me summer is here……well for today at least.
