Whether you want space for outdoor exercises, to contemplate, to tune into nature or simply chat, the grounds can accommodate your requirements. Picnic tables and parasols identify pleasant corners for those who want to meet, work or play outside.

Beyond the grounds is some of the finest scenery in Britain, with access to crags, caves and moorland. Right from the door you are immersed in the unspoiled uplands of the Yorkshire Dales, well away from the madding crowds.

Just to step outside is to be in the hills. The air is clean and pure. There is no rumble of traffic or light pollution. This authentic living landscape assures you peace, seclusion and space to make the very best of precious time.

High Trenhouse overlooks the international nature reserve of Malham Tarn, an upland limestone lake with raised peat bog and fenlands. There are many fine excursions to be made, with the dramatic beauty spots of Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar within walking distance. Within a few miles you can discover pretty dales villages like Arncliffe and Malham or the market towns of Settle and Skipton.
