Learning from Experience
As a result of using outdoor experiential learning you will greatly enhance your team building and leadership development. Activities need not be physically demanding nor take up too much time. More than just an adrenalin rush, experiential learning helps people connect theory with practice through direct experience and feedback, amplified by skilled review. Appropriate exercises relate to problem solving, communication, trust, team building, leadership, personal development, change management and more.
At High Trenhouse, we have worked with groups in the outdoors since the 1970s. Because High Trenhouse is in a remarkable location you can add value to your visit by getting some fresh air and exercise and tuning in to nature. Indeed, it would be a waste to not step out of the door and soak up something of this wonderful resource.
You can use the grounds for exercises or take local walks at your own risk and free of charge. We will gladly help with advice and, if necessary, hire outdoor clothing or boots. Alternatively you can choose to enhance your learning and increase your benefit with our professional help including safety cover and insurance.
.For more about the outcomes and objectives of different kinds of provision, see article on Team Development.
If time is tight activities may take the form of exercises in the grounds. With more time available there is a wide range of possibilities for learning in the beautiful local scenery. We can design activities to match the needs of your group and your program and provide specialist instruction and safety cover. If required we can provide you with guides for more ambitious excursions in the Yorkshire Dales. This can include, for instance, full support for the Yorkshire the Three Peaks challenge.
In addition to exercises and simulations, activities can also include:
- Climbing & Abseiling
- Fell Walking
- Mountain biking
- Landrover Experience
- Kite Flying
Call us to discuss your requirements and explore how we can help you integrate such activities into your programme.
